Homeward Bound Awarded TNR Grant from Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation

We are thrilled to share some exciting news—Homeward Bound has been awarded a grant from the Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation (NKAWF) to support our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program!

This generous grant will help fund spay and neuter surgeries for stray and feral cats throughout Nemaha County, reducing the number of litters born on the streets and improving the lives of cats and communities alike. Thanks to NKAWF’s support, we can continue working toward our mission of humane population control and give more cats a chance at a healthier, safer life.

The Northeast Kansas Animal Welfare Foundation provides critical funding to animal welfare organizations across our region. Their commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership, supporting medical care, and advancing spay/neuter initiatives makes a meaningful impact on countless lives—both human and animal.

At Homeward Bound, we know firsthand how vital TNR is to reducing the overpopulation crisis in rural communities. Every cat we fix is one step closer to breaking the cycle of suffering and neglect. This grant allows us to expand our efforts, help more caregivers, and prevent even more unwanted litters.

We are deeply grateful to NKAWF for believing in our work and investing in a more compassionate future for animals in Northeast Kansas.

If you’d like to join us in this mission, please consider donating, volunteering, or sharing our work. Together, we can make a difference!
